Edward Cullen is a fictional character in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series. Edward is a vampire, which in the course of the series, falls in love, marries and has a child with Bella Swan, a human teenager who later choose to become a vampire too. Edward is played by actor Robert Pattinson.

Edward meets Bella Swan, a human girl who thought he can not read, and whose blood smells overwhelmingly sweet to him. Edward warns Bella against ever being with him, perceiving her life is in danger if she continues to associate with him.

Edward's fears for Bella enhance security when she cut her finger and is almost attacked by his brother Jasper. Edward finds it hard to live without Bella, and is severely depressed at the thought of an infinitely long and meaningless life.

So ECLIPSE was released on DVD today.

Did you run out and get your copy?

I didn't.

Oh... I have mine ordered...

But the whole 'midnight' release thing isn't my cup of tea...

Nor is going to Target on a Saturday morning.

I'm kinda lazy that way.

Yeah, I probably won't get my copy until Monday...

But I'm OK with that.

I've watched Eclipse so many times already

the only thing I'm anxiously waiting for is listening

to Robert and Kristen giggle and flirt 

and have inside jokes on the commentary.

Indeed.

It's kinda weird to see how much the characters have changed

since Twilight.

Especially Jacob... Thank God.

I guess outside of looking a bit older

Bella looks pretty much the same.

But Edward.

That first Edward...

That was the picture of Rob

where I KNEW that he was going to be close to *my* Edward.

It's still my favorite, I think.

I'm kinda grateful that I read the books before the movie came out.

And that I have a version of Edward in my head...

A version that I see whenever I read his words

Whenever I imagine him in my mind.

I like that he is mine...

and I don't have to share him with anyone.

Robert does come close though...

So very close.

Yes... We actually get PAID for doing this ;)

Just thinking about the movies makes me

realize how much my Twilight obsession has waned.

Twilight was ALL consuming for me.

I saw it 3 days (out of 5x) in a row in the theater.

I couldn't stop just STARING at Rob.

I watched it online almost everyday there for a while.

I KNOW!

I mean...

I couldn't get enough of it.

When it came to buying the DVD...

I ended up with three copies.

Of course some of the blame lies at Summit's feet for 

letting everyone and my grandmother have their own version.

Thinking back...

I'm sure it was the fact that Edward was going to be 

someone I could now watch... instead of just imagine

that made Twilight so intoxicating for me.

That the world that Stephenie Meyer created

would actually come to life.

It was endlessly fascinating to me.

My stomach does flip-flops just remembering how I felt.

I love you, Kristen... I mean Bella!

Then came New Moon.

Yes, I was still interested

(I always will be... let's face it)

I was eager to see Edward and Bella actually share

some real intimacy...

the one real complaint I have about Twilight.

But...

After seeing it the first time in the theater

(and this time it was only 3x)

I remember driving home and thinking...

that I felt differently about this movie.

That I didn't get that flip-flop in my stomach...

that it wasn't the same.

I don't care about any wig... you always look beautiful.

And finally Eclipse.

(Damn "E" key is still broken... I should do something about that)

Eclipse.

My favorite book of the series.

Edward and Bella

Bella and Edward.

And oh yeah... Jacob.

I love this movie.

I saw it 3x in the theater

and look...

I know 3x is nothing compared to the people 

who saw it a zillion times.

But 3x for me... is a lot.

There were a couple of scenes that bothered me

(Yes, the motorcycle scene was ridiculous)

It was good.

But still...

I think the bloom is off the 'rose'.

Heh.

Well... silly pun but true.

Once I knew how Edward would look onscreen...

Once I got to meet Bella 

and the Cullens...

And see Forks High School...

That anticipation was gone.

The flip-flop.

And of course we have been saturated with all things Twilight

for over 2 years now...

That might have a play in my feelings.

Who knows.

Needless to say

(and of course I'm going to say it anyway)

I still love and adore Robert Pattinson.

I'm still intoxicated with him.

Maybe just not Twilight as much.

I doe no.

(inside joke)

Of course I'll marry you!!!

So in parting...

A few thoughts.

1. Enjoy the hell outta Eclipse.

I look forward to getting my copy.

But I think I might just wallow in Twilight this weekend.

2. The best part of the movies to me?

A. Edward was brought to life.

B. Rob and Kristen fell in love.

3. Outside of the Eclipse release...

News has been painfully... absent.

Now I just sit and wonder

when Rob and Kristen will make their way to London

for the holidays.

It's been a while for Rob.

You know he needs to go back there.

You know he needs to be with Kristen.

I guess we shall see what happens... and when.

Rob Pattinson-Still Intoxicated After All These Years

This post is all about Robert.

I really haven't written much about him lately.

Yeah...

I get shit about that.

(I know, it's hard to believe, isn't it?)

But what has Robert done for me lately?

Where the hell IS he?

Haven't seen him since he landed down in ol' Louisiana.

What am I supposed to write if the guy

doesn't show his pretty face?

And I know some people don't want to admit this...

But Kristen is connected to Robert now.

So...

Writing about Kristen...

Usually means Robert is involved.

I've been reflecting on my 'obsession' with Rob.

I don't think I'm in that frame of mind anymore.

I don't think I have been for a while.

Oh don't get me wrong...

I still adore him.

I still am very much interested in his career...

I still adore him.

I still love looking at him.

I still adore him.

But not being as obsessed is good... right?

I've discussed this recently with someone who went through

this whole Robert Pattinson addiction/obsession with me.

She came out on the other side.

I'm still somewhere in the middle.

I might not be as angst-ridden when it comes to Rob...

But I'm still intoxicated.

Still.

I just happen to be in a better place.

Emotionally.

This is a bit embarrassing to admit...

But just LOOKING at pictures of Robert

made my stomach twist in knots...

He had such an effect on me

(and millions of other women)

This is why this blog exists.

I keep trying to figure out WHY he affected me like this.

Why him?

Because no other actor has ever 

EVER

affected me like this.

I'm not a fangirl kinda girl.

But Robert...

Well...

He melts my heart.

It would be dishonest of me not to admit

that the whole Edward Cullen connection didn't have

something to do with my initial attraction.

I mean...

Edward Cullen.

I couldn't get enough of him, either.

Reading the Twilight books end to end to end to end

Finding FanFiction...

and reading about a sexier, more mature...

Edward.

I love Edward Cullen.

And then Robert became Edward.

And I was a goner.

Wave goodbye to Rose!

I still haven't comes to grips with Edward.

But like my Robert addiction...

My Edward addiction has cooled off.

Coincidence?

Probably not.

I still love both the actor

and the character he portrays.

I just have it more under control.

That being said...

I still love you, Robert Pattinson!!

I'm thinking I'm a fan for life.

I can't imagine going through this intense adoration

to let it slip away in a few years.

No.

I'm very loyal to those I love.

But I don't give out my love to just anyone.

The only other beings that I have ever had this degree

of 'obsession' with...

The Beatles.

And more specifically Paul McCartney

(I know I have discussed this before)

I've loved the Beatles since I was 10 years old.

They seriously saved my life when I was a teenager.

Long story. Not exactly for a blog.

But that's how intense my love for the Beatles is.

And now there is Robert.

Sometimes I wish my love for Robert

was just based on something as shallow as just his good looks.

But you all know there is so much more to him than that.

And you all know that is why we all adore him.

He's special.

 So very special.

We all love him because he's not like the other guys.

We all fell in love with him after watching his early interviews...

All his charm...

All his intelligence...

All his wit...

All his humility...

All his adorkability.

Sometimes it makes me feel good knowing I'm not alone...

And sometimes I look around and wonder how 

I can even be in the same fan base as some people.

And last but not least...

Loving Robert means accepting that Kristen

is going to be involved in some way.

She just IS.

She's always there.

It just so happens that I love and adore Kristen, too...

So it's not a problem for me.

It's WIN/WIN

OK then.

I went through this whole post...

And I didn't 'eat hate with a spoon'.

I just talked about Robert.

And it felt good.

Because I have missed my Robert.

I have missed my intoxication.

And now I feel a bit dizzy...

So that's a good sign.

Stephenie Meyer shares Eclipse shooting details.

Eclipse is in theaters for more than a month and it has in its box office more than $ 280 millions worldwide.
The author of the successful saga, Stephenie Meyer, was on set at this time in the most interesting scenes. So here is the story of The Twilight Saga Eclipse shooting process.

The filming dates for the movie were 17 August 2009 - 31 October 2009
It's hard to state the exact location, but the Eclipse was filmed in Canada. All action took place in British Columbia including major city - Vancouver.
Stephenie share with the tent scene shooting details. Did you know that :

- Kristen got seek when they were shooting Eclipse tent scene. She had stomach flu.
Everyone got lucky that it wasn't her time to speak in that scene, so she had just to lay on the ground in the sleeping bag.

- Taylor brought a garbage bag on set so Kristen Stewart could puke if she need to while shooting. By the way we're all glad that Kristen is feeling herself good right now. As well as it was very thoughtful from Taylor to bring the garbage bag and make care of Kristen.
- Edward supposed to be calm and mature, but it looks like he is angry in the scene after Jacob kissed Bella.

- Stephenie though that if Edward would grab Jacob's shoulder, the wolf should have at least blood on it. But the filmmakers decided to stay away from blood. When Stephenie thought of changing anything there ... "And they’d already filmed that day, we couldn’t redo it." commented Stephenie

- Another shock detail is that in the first version of tent scene, Jacob doesn't touch Bella while getting into sleeping bag. Thanks they've changed it or it would've been complete disaster.

- Kristen Stewart is knitting between takes. Can you even imagine that mega star Kristen like to come her self while knitting. I never saw any photo of Kristen knitting, but Stephenie told that lady from the crew, the hair lady Gina, taught Kristen how to knit.

So it's funny things happening over there, on the other side which is not opened. I wish we could know more about making the Eclipse or be more involved in it, but we will surely have some extra, exceeded and deleted scenes in Eclipse DVD.

Glowing Edward Cullen.

A lot of Twilight fans always wondered why does Edward Glow when he goes in the sunlight? Is that a special power or something more?

Stephenie never explained this mystery to fans, but some fans have their theories on that. One of the best is about bugs.
The vampires are compared with fleas that should fortify before full rehabilitation.
Like butterflies they can remember what happens to them when they were in other shape (human). So vampires are very similar to bugs and some of this insects has specific skin, so they can glow on the sunshine.
This theory is one of the best so far. If you have any theory about Edward glowing in the sunlight to share, you're welcome.

What mean the symbols of The Twilight Saga books cover.

I have found Stephenie's comments on what exactly does the apple on the cover of Twilight means?

"The apple on the cover of Twilight represents "forbidden fruit." I used the scripture from Genesis (located just after the table of contents) because I loved the phrase "the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil." Isn't this exactly what Bella ends up with? A working knowledge of what good is, and what evil is. The nice thing about the apple is it has so many symbolic roots. You've got the apple in Snow White, one bite and you're frozen forever in a state of not-quite-death... Then you have Paris and the golden apple in Greek mythology—look how much trouble that started. Apples are quite the versatile fruit. In the end, I love the beautiful simplicity of the picture. To me it says: choice." said Stephenie Meyer.

Of course there are different theories on the web: one think that Apple means forbidden, the others believe that it's related to Adam and Eve.

The next book cover "New Moon". I found Stephenie's explanation:
"That is a ruffled tulip. As for the meaning... If you've read the Twilight FAQ, you know that the apple cover had a lot of meaning for me, and I was an active part of the covering process. However, that experience is more the exception than the rule in the publishing world. Something to keep in mind if you intend to embark on a career as a writer: lots of things you might expect to be under your control are not. Covers, for example. Those are mostly up to the publisher and the marketing and sales departments. So I don't know what the tulip means—I didn't have anything to do with this one." commented Stephenie.

So the real meaning is, that author of The Twilight Saga: New Moon didn't have any.
I believe that New Moon is more symbolized with the new life started there. As Edward left Bella she had to go through the hard times, but she had her second birth, second life with Jacob. Flower look like Indian symbol.

There is no much differences among theories considering this cover. Almost everyone agreed that Eclipse cover illustrates Bella's choice between Edward (her true love) and Jacob (her friend, but not just friend.)She wants to make a choice and get things right, but Bella just can't let go Jacob as he is too important.

The last book named Breaking Dawn puts everything on its places.

"Breaking Dawn's cover is a metaphor for Bella's progression throughout the entire saga. She began as the weakest (at least physically, when compared to vampires and werewolves) player on the board: the pawn. She ended as the strongest: the queen. In the end, it's Bella that brings about the win for the Cullens." explained Stephenie Meyer.

As  everyone is trying to watch Eclipse online, I decide to make it a bit easier and put all the scenes I found on YouTube in chronological order.

I suppose it should be the first one. Alice had vision, so they're trying to catch Victoria (Paul and Emmet's incident).




Next goes the scene at the parking lot near the school.



So as they left parking lot, Jacob brings Bella home where she meets Leah Clearwater.



So Edward wasn't very happy when Bella got home from Jacob, but it wasn't not the reason he had to worry about as someone was in her house, stranger.



As Bella isn't so safe anymore, wolfs and vampires try to work together. The idea with Switzerland I liked the most. So it's sort of relief.



While Bella is with Jacob, listening to the old stories and legends of Quileutes. Riley is making an army with Victoria and that is the place where Bree Tanner came in.



It's so unsafe around Seattle right now, but the scene is like an oasis in the desert.



As the next day Bella meets Jacob, he decides to tell about his feelings. We don't have that scene, but we can watch what has happened after Jacob kissed Bella.



Bella and Edward went to Cullens house so Carlisle could make a bandaging. But there is one person in Cullen's family that doesn't want to accept Bella's choice to be a monster.



While Rosalie is telling the story of her life to Bella, Volturi are watching how newborns act and decide to see what newborns are created for .




Alice had a vision,so Cullens must start fight trainings together with wolfs.



A lot scenes are missing since training such as Jasper's story, Edwrad's choice and Jacob carrying Bella across the forest. When we are back to Bella's house, she has very interesting talk with her father.





As they clear everything out. The battle is soon going to start, so we see Riley and Victoria together.

Volvo is increasing it's revenue.

As the Twilight Saga has become such phenomena of the last four years,it has also made a benefits to other companies.

In all four books Stephenie writes about Edward's car as about something special and Volvo got very lucky , that it was the one picked. Volvo is as protective as Edward in the book. It's always there, when you need protection and speed. Check out the Volvo commercial for the first movie:

"The nicest car here was a shiny Volvo, and it stood out"

"It was the shiny new Volvo. Of course"

"Edward Cullen was leaning against the front door of the Volvo, three cars down from me, and staring intently in my direction."

"The next morning, when I pulled into the parking lot, I deliberately parked as far as possible from the silver Volvo."

Volvo became a character and a big member of saga from the very first book. It continued to leave in the other shape in New Moon:

"against his polished silver Volvo"

The Volvo became the small detail of Edward's look. It was always silver and shinny.

And went back in Eclipse:

"the sun was glinting off a silver Volvo right on my tail."
"The Volvo followed inches behind me."
"I heard the Volvo's engine growl, and I struggled to get free."

However, the last book of The Twilight Saga: Breaking dawn doesn't open new opportunities for shinny new toy :

"So I was at a loss when I mashed the button on the keyless remote, and it was not his Volvo that beeped and flashed its lights for me."

Edward will still drive Volvo in the last movie, but there are a lot of other cars to introduce according to book. Bella will need to drive Aston Martin Vanquish.

Till that moment the Volvo concern is counting their revenues while Eclipse is breaking the theaters. By the Digital Cinema Media data, Volvo has increased its revenue for $ 1,5 million for the last weekend.

Why Stephenie called them Bella and Edward?

And the secret is finally opened. To find the right name for gorgeous "vegetarian" vampire, Stephenie was looking for something special.

She found it in great literature masterpieces "Jane Eyre" as Mr Edward Rochester and "Sense and Sensibility" as Mr Edward Ferrars.

The name of a girl that didn't really fit in the regular school company was not hard to find. As Stephenie has admitted that she loved her character as it was real person, she made her very close and it wasn't hard to pick the name. Stephenie always liked the name Isabella and wished to name her own daughter - Bella.

The Volturi is also a made up clan and characters, but some fans are looking for some kind of meaning in the Volturi name. I found one in urban dictionary: Volturi-something you threaten people with.

Should the Breaking Dawn be rated R ?

It's still not clear how the Summit Entertainment will rate the movie. Will the Breaking Dawn stay at the same point as the other saga parts ("PG-13") or will they go for "R" rate.


The Summit's distribution chief Richie Fay told :

"I don't see it ever becoming an R-rated movie. The middle road we have to travel is a mutual respect as to staying true to the book but not turning off your audience."

It's true, you don't have to turn off the audience, but how is it possible to make the fourth book instalment in the PG-13 rating ? It's all about Bella getting older, being a mother, going through the wedding and honey moon.
The island part is not just another moment in the book, it's a big emotional step for both of them. Edward and Bella are much different in the last book from the previous one.
Breaking Dawn isn't understandable for any teens. It's not about how regular girl is getting older, Bella never was a regular one.

They will obviously stay at "PG-13" as it will make the larger profit and not let the movie fall in the theaters. But I still hold with the think that if you want to go for the movie and you are grown enough to understand it, your parents will buy you the ticket.

It will help the movie illustrate the book for the 100 %.

Breaking Dawn in Brazil.

A few days ago Summit Entertainment announced that they will shoot The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn in Louisiana and Vancouver, but is there suppose to be an "Isle of Esme" according to the book. This island should be somewhere in Brazil. Rio Film Commission are trying really hard in order to make filming on island.

It would be so great if they go for it ... as Brazil got the best views and Stephenie was describing that island like: "a small island rose out of the water ahead of us, waving with palm fronds, a beach glowing pale in the light of the moon."

Vampire teeth for Twilight fans

This is not for the first time when Twilight fans are trying to make themselves a little more closer to Edward and other members of the family.
But as the contact lenses are a usual thing and you won't surprise anyone with that. The most undaunted Twilight fans are making a canine teeth.
The most important that the whole procedure to get the vampire teeth is very simple.
Dentists Dr Clint Herzog offers to make the vampire teeth for Twilight fans only for $200.

There is also one surprise: It will take about 15 minutes to make them and you can take them off whatever you like.

I don't actually get why should Twilight fans be so obsessed with all that teeth thing, I never so Edward or any other from Cullen's family having teeth like that.

Jacob Black and Edward Cullen as two different personalities.

It is visible to the naked eye how different those two characters of The Twilight Saga are.

The thing is not only the physical difference and their confrontation. Stephenie put the emphasis on comparison of those two types as ice and fire, cold and warm, they are the most opposite types of person that you can even imagine.

Their characters as Jacob and Edward are not very common in the modern life. Stephenie took extreme prototypes to creating those.

Jacob is very kind and young with passion inside him, but an irony of fate is that those are usually get punished for their sincerely behaviour.
The third movie is opening that picture to the audience. Poor Jacob has not only opened his heart to the love of his life, but tried to do everything that he even could. Discarded, he put the emphasise on his feelings as the final words were:
"I'll be waiting"said Jacob
"Until my heart stops biting" continued Bella
"Maybe, And even then"Jacob brings down the curtain.

I compassionate him so much. I knew the story from the beginning of the movie, as all 4 books had been read several times by that moment, but Taylor was really good and made me feel so sad. The final episode was quite grievous.


The line that goes between Edward and Bella is quite simple that time. It more even Bella and Jacob than Edward. However there are a lot of moments were those three are put together. Robert is acting as vampire with long previous experience, he's calm and it's hard to understand if there are any other feelings except protection and afraid of loosing Bella. He is definitely cold and less emotional in comparison with Jacob.

It's great that Edward wants to make it all right, he is showing the love that is not just love. Could you give love of your life to someone only because you believe that it would be better for her? It is love on the next level. I truly believe that we can find those feelings on earth, but with all modern technologies and concerns ....

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is so essential to this generation as who else can show them where to go, what should they want to achieve, how love may hurt and how it can cure. You can find everything here. This part is full of caustic remarks, comic situations, deep feelings... This also shows that any choice that you've made in your life and any move you make will cause the consequence.

Robert Belongs To Kristen

So I just got back from seeing Eclipse.

Again.

*sigh*

Robert is absolutely

positively

gorgeous in this movie.

And although I have always felt that

Kristen and Rob always looked completely natural 

when it came to the intimate/kissing scenes...

After what Slade said about the meadow scenes

I looked a bit closer this time around...

What did I see?

Well...

I saw Edward look at Bella...

Smile at Bella...

Much like we always see Robert look at Kristen.

Smile at Kristen.

Imagine that.

So since Slade also mentions how it was obvious

that Rob and Kristen were a couple based

on 'chemistry' in the meadow scenes...

I guess it's apparent to everyone...

(who isn't afflicted with rabies) 

That there is something going on with these two...

Not just people who believe they are together.

What a job.

Making out with your girlfriend

and getting paid for it.

Sweet.

Yeah.

That's definitely the message I hear.
